In October of  2018, Danny and Ginette were inspired to find a way to expand the Paradis Valley Honey brand while also benefiting their local community. After putting their heads together, they came up with the idea to improve their farm-gate experience by branching into agri-toursim. They sought to create a café atmosphere where people could connect over quality beverages and pastries in their hometown of Watino, AB – a vibrant community that lacked much of a social space. Many months of planning, design, and carpentry later, they enthusiastically opened the Valley Bee Café in the current Paradis Valley Honey apiary location.

Since its opening in February 2019, the café has attracted friends, family, and guests from all across the Peace Country and abroad. It is a “sweet” place to hang out, as it boasts an observation window into the honey extraction room, a community word search,  handmade journals, and plenty of other goods created by local artisans for purchase. Their community tables invite conversation and connection, giving visitors the opportunity to meet new people and also run into old friends. Thanks to all of these features and the specialty coffees, teas, and food menu, Valley Bee Café is now the comfortable community space that Danny and Ginette had envisioned from the start.

We have partnered with some amazing companies to bring our guests yummy treats and beverages. These companies are all local to Alberta – you can read more about their stories and why we decided to partner with them here!
