Good afternoon, friends! We are anxious to “spill the tea” on three companies we have partnered with for the improvement project of our farm-gate experience (read more about our exciting agri-tourism project here!). Our focus in securing these partnerships was to work with other Alberta-based businesses. In doing so, we aim to do our part in sustaining the Canadian economy, build community relations, and give back with purpose. Without further adieu, read below to learn more about the terrific brands we’ve partnered with! The first company we are extremely proud to be working with is Black Rifle Coffee Company. Based out of St. Albert, this unique coffee brand is owned and operated by Canadian military veterans. Their objective is to provide a high quality coffee while honoring those who protect, defend, and support our communities and our country. They provide services to the veteran community, including employing veterans in their shops. They have various dark, medium, and light roast blends; among our favourites is the Little Warriors Blend. Proceeds of this blend go to the Little Warriors Organization, a group that is committed to the awareness, prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse on behalf of children across Canada. Drinking coffee just got better! Every cup you drink in-house and every bag of coffee purchased from our retail section will assist in supporting these worthy causes.

Secondly, we secured a communi-tea partnership with a Calgary-based company called TeaLife! This means that our friends and customers will have access to quality, loose leaf teas right in our very café. Not only will guests be able to enjoy a warm cup in house, they will also have the opportunity to purchase various loose leaf teas on-site. Meghan Cosenzo, Founder of TeaLife, divulged that she had been bullied as a youth, and had very few friends and low confidence growing up. Years later, she chose to re-define herself partly through founding TeaLife, a company that would aim to bring people together, build friendships, connect culture, and assist in bringing healing to the mind and body.

Last but certainly not least, we have partnered with Gracie’s Pantry out of Girouxville, Alberta. Gracie’s Pantry opened after owner Lexi Labrecque struggled to find tasteful allergy-friendly options for her daughter, Grace. She was inspired to do extensive research and recreate recipes that would fit the lifestyle of those with food allergies. Gracie’s Pantry is the first ever gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free bakery in the Smoky River region. We can say from personal experience that they bake some of the tastiest treats around; from warm and fluffy, to decadent and dreamy! Enjoying some of their treats in our café will ensure you have a truly sweet and savoury day. Lexi prides herself in the smiles that her food brings to those who can finally eat treats without the worry – and she assures us that everything is always baked with love!
